Wood Balusters

Wood balusters in the Architect's Choice Series are custom made per order. Below is a sampling of custom balusters that we have created on our CNC lathe. Custom turned balusters are great for a unique style.

When considering baluster style, consider:

• Square top balusters: A sturdy appearance. They take longer to install, so typically cost more.
• Pin top balusters: An elegant appearance. They are drilled into the rail, so they are quite strong and install faster than square top.
• Custom features can be added to square baluster such as a chamfer to the edges, or a V or U dado down the center, or as a ring.
• Customer features for turned baluster can be fluting or a twist.

Design-a-Newel

• Boxed newels can be designed exactly to your request.We've laid out a number of component options for mix-and-match custom designed boxed newels.
• Our standard newel widths are 3-3/4", 5", 7", and 8", but any of these components can be made for any size newel.
• Select each component to create a custom newel exactly how you like.

Rails

• Like Architect's Choice Series wood balusters, all Architect's Choice Series rails are made custom per order.
• The rails shown below that are named by letter are some of our custom rail designs with unique profiles or details, but have been requested a number of times.
• The others that are marked only by dimension were made for one custom or reproduction job, but will be less expensive than a new custom design since we already have the tools for that particular shape.
