Boston - Curved staircase with iron balustrade

Boston

Our first inquiry in Boston came from an architect who was looking for a stair company capable of handling a very difficult design. One of our Curved Stair Specialists spent several days reviewing the design and making recommendations to streamline the fabrication process. Once the details and the pricing were approved, Designed Stairs went to the site to take exact laser measurements and began the shop drawings. Custom stringers, facing, and an iron balustrade were created alongside the bronze terminations and ascending volutes. Our team delivered the fabricated staircase and performed the installation at the site. The resulting "Imperial" staircase is truly unique.

Nagoya, Japan

One of our customers in Japan wanted to design a custom curved staircase into one of their new model homes in Nagoya. A Designed Stairs' Curved Stair Specialist worked out the details of the design and shop fabrication, and arranged the shipping to the jobsite in Japan. At the customer's request to arrange for on-site installation training, Designed Stairs sent a representative to Japan to meet the overseas shipment and spend a few days training our customer's installation carpenters. Designed Stairs has completed 27 custom curved stair projects within the country of Japan. Yoi shigoto o shimashita!

Glass balusters, marble treads, and black risers for a contemporary staircase.

North Shore

This curved staircase features marble treads, glass balusters, stacked half circle starting treads, descending stringer drums, and custom floor borders, all of which required accurate communication between various trades. Our clients had very specific design requirements that would carry between the first and the second floor. They also wanted a result that would radiate with elegance. They were very pleased with the results!

Hidden structure make this staircase appear to float.

Oak Brook

Our clients wanted "floating" staircases that seemed to defy gravity. Designed Stairs produced this breathtaking 180 degree freestanding curved staircase that required us to engineer an internal steel support system. This curved staircase is built in American Cherry and features closed end stringers and custom turned balusters and newels.
